EMILY BRODER

Emily's educational background includes an honours BSc from the University of Guelph in biology. She has also earned a diploma as a Biotechnology Technician at Loyalist College. Emily began her lab career as a part-time research assistant at Loyalist College. After this, she started working full-time as a QA lab technician first at a chocolate factory and then with an animal nutrition company.

In pursuit of a career in academic research, Emily applied to the Bhatia program and was hired on in 2019. She really enjoys the collaborative and supportive environment in the lab, and working in such an important field of research.

Fun fact: every spring Emily boils sap to make maple syrup
