Kinga received her BSc and MSc in Biophysics, followed by her PhD in Theoretical Medical Sciences at the University of Szeged in Hungary in 2012. During her studies she worked as a Junior Scientist at Solvo Biotechnology, then a researcher at Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Italy. Kinga went on as a Post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Yong Li’s lab at UTHealth in Houston for 3 years. Throughout her career she has 7 first authorships, several co-authored publications and 2 book chapters. She received the Top 100 Read Articles Award for her article in the peer-reviewed Scientific Reports journal. She joined the Bhatia lab in 2018. 


Her career goal is to develop new pharmaceutical and biotechnological products. Kinga loves the multicultural and friendly work environment in the lab.

Fun fact: a moth is named after her (Eupithecia Kinga)!
